【摘要】:Toxiceffectsofleadandcadmiumarewellknownandreleaseoftheseelementsfromfoodwareisregulatedbymanycountries.Regulatorydecisionsarebasedonresultsof24-hleachingwithaceticacidbecauseresultsofthistestmethodarepreciseandaccurateandthistestmethodiseasytouse.Concentrationsofleadandcadmiumextractedbyfoodmaybedifferentfromresultsofthismethod,however,becauseacidity,contacttime,andtemperaturetypicalofconsumerusearedifferentfromthoseofthistestmethod.Thistestmethodisintendedforapplicationonlyincontamination-freesettingsandshouldbeperformedbywell-qualifiedtechnicalpersonnel.Itisrecognizedthatitisnotapracticalorappropriatemethodtouseinanonlaboratoryenvironmentforqualityassuranceandcontroloftheceramicprocess.UsersareadvisedtouseTestMethodC738(flameAAS)forpurposesofthelatter.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforusinggraphitefurnaceatomicabsorptionspectroscopy(GFAAS)toquantitativelydetermineleadandcadmiumextractedbyaceticacidatroomtemperaturefromthefood-contactsurfaceoffoodware.Themethodisapplicabletofood-contactsurfacescomposedofsilicate-basedmaterials(earthenware,glazedceramicware,decoratedceramicware,decoratedglass,andleadcrystalglass)andiscapableofdeterminingleadconcentrationsgreaterthan0.005to0.020g/mLandcadmiumconcentrationsgreaterthan0.0005to0.002g/mL,dependingoninstrumentdesign.1.2ThistestmethodalsodescribesqualitycontrolprocedurestocheckforcontaminationandmatrixinterferenceduringGFAASanalysesandaspecificsequenceofanalyticalmeasurementsthatdemonstratesproperinstrumentoperationduringthetimeperiodinwhichsamplesolutionsareanalyzed.1.3Cleaningandothercontaminationcontrolproceduresaredescribedinthistestmethod.Usersmaymodifycontaminationcontrolproceduresprovidedthatthemodificationsproduceacceptableresultsandareusedforbothsampleandqualitycontrolanalyses.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSI(metric)unitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
