【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodfordeterminingthepolarizationstatusand,wheneverpossible,thedegreeofpolarizationofthebeamfromacontinuouswave(cw)laser.Itcanalsobeappliedtorepetitivelypulsedlasers,iftheirelectricfieldvectororientationdoesnotchangefrompulsetopulse.ThisInternationalStandardalsospecifiesthemethodfordeterminingthedirectionoftheplaneofoscillationinthecaseoflinearlypolarized(totallyorpartially)laserbeams.Itisassumedthatthelaserradiationisquasi-monochromaticandsufficientlystableforthepurposeofthemeasurement.Theknowledgeofthepolarizationstatuscanbeveryimportantforsomeapplicationsoflaserswithahighdivergenceangle,forinstancewhenthebeamofsuchalasershallbecoupledwithpolarizationdependentdevices(e.g.polarizationmaintainingfibres).ThisInternationalStandardalsospecifiesamethodforthedeterminationofthestateofpolarizationofhighlydivergentlaserbeams,aswellasforthemeasurementofbeamswithlargeapertures.
